Statistics Universe Position
- One senior or junior faculty position in statistical data mining, pattern recognition and/or machine learning, with an emphasis on cosmology. Timescale 2008.
The Department of Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position, starting on July 1, 2008 (see ad here). The position offers opportunities for active involvement in exciting frontier areas of modern statistics for huge data sets in cosmology and astrophysics. Applicants should have demonstrated interest in relevant statistical fields such as pattern recognition, image analysis, Bayesian computing, or statistical machine learning. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Statistics or in a related field. Depending on the candidate's qualifications, a joint appointment with Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics may be possible.
